I’m Kathleen Russell, a 21-year-old Linguisitics student and D&D enthusiast. I started playing in September of 2017, and I started DMing that December. First I started with my melodramatic evil campaign, The Edge of Evil, and the following summer I started my online campaign, Colourful Morons.

I’m not particularly experienced—but I have learned a lot in my year-and-a-half. I hope I continue to learn and evolve as both a DM and a player! This blog will chronicle some of my experiences; I hope for it to be entertaining to people both familiar and unfamiliar with D&D, and also informative to fellow burgeoning DMs.

Why Delayed Blast Fireball?

Because I’m a delayed blast waiting to happen? I have a history of being a terrible dungeon master, and often the worst bits come about because I planted a bad seed and didn’t have the power to fix it without like, straight up retconning an entire encounter. Hence, delayed blast.

It’s also a really awesome spell.
